Rooftile News: Winds Knock Down Several City Hall Roof Tiles

The city hall in Bay City of Michigan state was attacked by 50mph winds, the new roof was left with gaping holes. The roof contractor possibly takes responsibility in this issue. Now there are holes on the roof, some tiles were damaged after a piece of wood slammed into them. It's said that the whole roofing project on City Hall costs $1.6 million. And the roof tiles were designed to last 100 years. According to several roof tile suppliers around the world, I have been told roof tile life is usually guaranteed within 50 years. While in this case, it proves the roof tiles City Hall use are not stable enough to against big load.

Coke Cola plastic bottles, which have been produced and recycled everyday, are given a new mission in solar energy industry. The cheap, solar-powered bulbs are actually just clear Coke Cola plastic bottles filled with a mixture of purified water and chlorine or bleach which is commonly used in household cleaning products. Each bottle is then inserted halfway into a hole made on the roof of a house.
